Educational Programs Director
Cara directs the community grants, scholarship, and educational programs for the Miami Bayside Foundation.
With over 15 years of experience, Cara has directed financial literacy, educational, and scholarship programs for multicultural clients including immigrants, migrants, victims of human trafficking, and former foster youth. Her programs and staff have empowered over 2,000 community members to outline educational, financial and vocational goals and map an achievable plan for success.
Cara has directed nonprofit projects in San Francisco and Hawaii, and was the founding program director for the Immigrant Resource Center in Kauai, Hawaii. She has successfully received over $2.5 million in funding for grass-roots projects that use culturally-competent mentoring, client-centered goal mapping, and evidence-based training to empower clients to achieve educational and financial goals. Cara is meticulous with program metrics, and has provided training to nonprofit executives on metrics, outcome measurements, and evaluations.
She holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, and has over 15 years of experience directing community development programs.
