Small Business Workshops

Advancing Minority-Owned Businesses

MBF Small Business Training

In September of 2015, MBF launched its first 10-session Small Business Training for minority-owned City of Miami businesses. The training provides business owners with essential tools and skills to grow their companies.

In March of 2017, MBF celebrated another cohort of Miami small business owners graduating its fifth training.

The 5 week, 10-session workshop provides business owners with essential tools and skills to grow their companies including compliance, intellectual property, hiring, policies and procedures, real estate, contracts, direct sales and marketing, online marketing, bookkeeping, finances, and accessing capital.

We have received positive feedback from the workshop participants.  Many noted that bookkeeping, financial reporting, information on acquiring loans, and marketing were the most important topics they learned about during the workshop.

As a new business owner in a very competitive market, the small business training has given us the confidence to become business owners rather than employees.
