FIU ScholarshipAssistance to Educational Institutions through Scholarships
Florida International University (FIU)
In providing funds towards a University-Wide Scholarship, First Generation Scholarship Program, and the Golden Scholars Program, the MBF further demonstrates its commitment to advancing and empowering our community through education initiatives. Additionally, the foundation endowed the first ever scholarship program at FIU’s MBA program. The MBF MBA Scholarship is for students pursuing degrees in the MBA Downtown or Professional MBA Flex programs.
…thanks to your incredible kindness and support, I can afford to get the best education possible in order to achieve my dreams. I will truly be forever thankful.Maria Silva
The Golden Scholars program has helped me grow and develop throughout my three years here at FIU. I have grown both as a student and professional. Coming in from high school I could not picture myself being in the position I am in now. I am involved in the FIU community, and hold a Resident Assistant position. I feel like the Golden Scholars Program has been a guide not only for my graduation but for my development as a professional.Ashley Perez

The Golden Scholars Program is an intensive, alternative, residential admissions program which serves as an obtainable gateway for underrepresented, first generation student populations who may not meet the general criteria for Undergraduate Admissions. It prepares students to transition into college life socially, academically, and emotionally. In addition to general support the program provides comprehensive, customized, intentional support which includes a variety of education interventions: tutoring, guided groups, group dynamics, thematic groups, general and individual reviews, and computer interactive support programs, among others.
Each cohort of Golden Scholars participates in an intensive six-week summer transition program which requires students to take two academic courses and one freshmen experience course (with a minimum GPA of 2.5), and utilize academic advising, educational intervention supports, workshops and counseling resources while living on campus.
Criteria for the Golden Scholars Program are:
- Eligible candidates must be enrolled in or accepted for admission to the University, who are minorities participating in the Golden Scholars Program.
- Students must be residents of the City of Miami.
- Students must be graduates of a high school located in the City of Miami.
