In October 2015, MBF provided a loan to BeeFree Media, LLC located on 2312 North Miami Avenue in Wynwood. BeeFree Media is a spinoff of FreeBee, an electric transportation company that provides free shuttle service in Brickell and Miami Beach. After operating under FreeBee for three years, BeeFree Media became its own entity in January 2015.
BeeFree Media, LLC is a visual communication company that provides small to medium Miami-based businesses with printing, video, and digital media services. Their clients include Art Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Bayside Marketplace, and FreeBee.
BeeFree Media’s motto is to bring together creativity, visual communications and execution. The management team is deeply involved in the community and enjoy taking on projects that “people talk about.” One such project is Wynwood’s Park-Your-Art: a contest for artist to paint parking meters to be displayed during Art Basel. According to Stuart Lujan, this initiative took form when Miami Parking Authority requested BeeFree Media to come up with a creative way to curb vandalism of parking meters in Wynwood. The art on the parking meters aim to inspire the community and will hopefully prevent vandalism. Eight winners were selected and their artwork can be seen here.
The loan has already helped the three managing partners: Stuart Lujan, Kristopher Kimball, and Jason Spiegel, to grow their team from four to six staff members. As Art Basel is coming up, which is the busiest time of the year for the company, Stuart Lujan says that the expansion couldn’t have happened at a better time.
