STARTING A BUSINESS
If you are planning on opening a business in the City of Miami, download Steps to Open Your New Business in the City of Miami, which breaks down opening a business into 3 steps: location, certificate of use, and business tax receipt.

GETTING STARTED
For a quick reference on doing business in Miami-Dade County, Florida, download the Beacon Council’s Resource Guide. In addition to a step-by-step guide to starting a business in Miami-Dade, the Guide provides a list of resources available to small businesses.

PROJECTIONS
Forecasting revenue and expenses is a necessary exercise for understanding your business and managing your finances.  Additionally, most financing institutions are going to want to see three years of projections, with the first year presented monthly.  A template for building your projections can be downloaded here.

BUSINESS PLAN
While there are many ways to layout your Business Plan, some key components to consider can be found in this Business Plan Outline. Each section of the plan is strategically placed to help build a compelling story and should be peppered with images, when appropriate.

DUNS NUMBER
A DUNS number is used for identification purposes as well as for credit reporting. To obtain one free of charge, visit the Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) website.
