Press Release: $70,000 Awarded to Miami-Dade Technical Colleges for City of Miami Students

The MBF presented a $50,000 gift, as well as a gift in partnership with Baptist Health South Florida for $20,000, to the Miami-Dade Public School System at the School Board of Miami-Dade meeting on June 17, 2015. These gifts will cover scholarships to 42 City of Miami minority students at D.A. Dorsey, Lindsey Hopkins, and George T. Baker Technical Colleges. The scholarships are for students studying in the Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, and Patient Care Technician Programs at the various schools.

Last year, The MBF created a scholarship program for City of Miami high school seniors graduating and going to college. In its second year, that program has awarded 51 scholarships
